Tick Tock, Tick, Tock Poem by Rachel Henley

Tick Tock, Tick, Tock

I found my heart in a box
-that was locked,
You hid it away under the dreaded clock,
Using time to hide us away,
hoping it would soon be time,
to find me again,
but years went by
and matrimony came too soon.

Before I even knew it,
I was the ruins of our June,
on every birth certificate you signed,
was a death sentence for our love life.

There is my heart,
under that stupid clock,
oh how I still wait
and will always wait,
tick tock,
tick, tock.
