Til We Meet Again Poem by Benjamin Davis

Til We Meet Again

Running into you was the best thing I've done
you have been a better friend to me than anyone.
It's really a shame that I came for such a short stay
and this time next week I'll be going away.
Let us just enjoy this time that we have to spend
instead of worrying our hearts out about when the visit will end.
Let us take in a movie, or go out to dine
you can tell me about your life, and I'll tell you about mine.
I have been looking for a friend and it hurts me to say
the first one I find lives so far away.
That's quite alright though, we can still have some fun
having a friend across the globe, beats not having one.
When I return to my home, I will constantly write
you'll be on my mind, both day and night.
But right at this moment, while I'm here with you
let us do all of the things that you'd like to do.
My heart's happy now, but there's not much time left
before I'll be on my way home to be by myself.
I'll miss you so much, that I'll dream of your smile
and I'll send my love back to you over the miles.
Just before I leave, I'll hug you and then
wish you the best my friend, until we meet again.
