When I Say I'm Done Poem by Benjamin Davis

When I Say I'm Done

Now that our marriage is over
there is something I think you should know
I will never again have anything to do with you
for I've gone as far as I'm willing to go.
Do not waste your time calling my phone
because your calls I will always ignore
and don't bother coming over to visit me
for I will not be bothering to open the door.
I was faithful to you and loved you wholeheartedly
however, your love from the start was untrue
this is the reason that we can not be friends
because friendships needs faithfulness too.
my friends and I can always rely on one another
my friends can get what ever I've got
a friend of mine could have my last dime
but you, on the other hand can not.
Do not send me any more of your messages
for I don't need you and your drama in my life
should I believe you'd be a good friend to me
when you couldn't even be a good wife?
You're probably thinking that my feelings will change one day
in a year or maybe later on down the line
but you are selfish, unfaithful, and cold hearted
therefore, you could never be a true friend of mine.
I thought at first that you were my heavenly angel
but I was made to see that you're not the one
so don't bother trying to keep in touch with me
because when I say I'm done, I'm done.
