Time. Poem by Derrick Andrews

Time.

Why, in the midst of beauty,
Does pain rear its ugly head,
Revealing that everything is not ok,
Far from that actually,
And as we spend time, searching for answers just out of our reach,
We seem to forget that time is the answer,
Which heals all wounds,
Solves all problems,
And leads to satisfaction.
It is the door concealing knowledge,
That experience unlocks,
Just beyond its padlocked knob,
And its steel, inpenitrable frame,
Lies the fruit of our labor,
The reward for toil and sacrifice.
Only time will tell.
