Time Poem by kobby godgift

Time

Like an eagle relates to its prey
So time connects with his friends and foes alike
Indifferent to everyone
Because he never seems to have a constant friend or foe
Only acquaintances who switch sides
More frequently than the wind changes direction

A creepy dude he is, Time
Keep an eye on him and he crawls along in a pace a tortoise would despair
But take your eye off him and he moves in a manner a cheetah only thought of possible in its wildest dreams
The only dude who along with his associates never gets weary
Some mighty beautiful associates he has too, the sun, moon and stars
Who are swift to tell the different seasons and are as punctual as that season demands

Time can be a vicious brute in as much as he can be a loving and jolly fellow
One moment a person is born with loads of energy stored up and a heart that beats as much as the clock ticks and tocks
And joy explodes in and around everyone present like a volcanic eruption
The next moment and another person dies and a heart as dead as the stone age and as cold as the ice age
Then sorrow and pain cause destruction that makes a hurricane seem like a sweet song
Yea Time, a jolly fellow when he wants to be, a vicious brute when he desires

Time, oh dear Time
Whether friend or foe is up to you to decide for yourself
For though you cannot manipulate him
You can use him to your own benefit
Existing long before the first creature with breath was created
Will go on till God Himself says, 'it is over my dear'

Time, who has never moved backwards before
Sturdier than the pyramids of Giza
As unchanging as the sea
And as unflinching as the sun
Can be as predictable as the shining of the sun
And yet can make you as flabbergasted as the rapture would the left behind
