Time Is Never Wasted Poem by AtreyaSarma Uppaluri

Time Is Never Wasted

Don't ever regret
That you've wasted your time.
You only used it in another way
And got back your enjoyment.

Others used their time in a different way
And received their own reward
But not the mode of your pleasure.

There is no time wasted
But only spent.

It's like
The Law of Conservaton of Mass -
Time-utility-reward
Sum total remains the same
Only, composition could vary.

It's just like banking
Like double entry book-keeping:
Every debit has its credit.

It's like Newton's Laws of Motion:
Every action has
Its equal and opposite reaction.
Every time input has its utility output.

Striving for and sweating out
For the future is great
And presupposes self-discipline.
If you aren't for the rigours
It's all right too.
Take life as it is
And drift along.

Living in the present
And for the moment
Has its own pleasures.

Indolence and indulgence
Have their own merits:
You feel light, relaxed
And youthful too.

It's like arithmetic:
If it's a plus here
It's a minus there.

Anyway
You've choice to look back
Reorder your priorities
And proceed to realise them.
So stop, look, and proceed!
