Time To Celebrate

Time to celebrate - a poem by Andrew Yip

Well, here am I,
In a hostel and escaped from the blazing sun,
My mind starts whirling high,
A vision of festive cheer and fun.

Alone in a room far away from the city;
Yet not lonely or silent tonight,
For here there is company,
In a cozy room at night.

Within a dimly lit hostel dorm,
Seven bottles lay bone dry,
Each gulp brings a vision of storm,
Or just cloud, or memories running high.

Whatever dreams or hope or care,
Whatever kind words or meaningless jabber,
We celebrate this moment, precious and rare,
With new hopes and tasty food to savor.
