Timid Me. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

I am far from being aggressive.
Instead, I am very timid.

I know sometimes in such games I may seem unresponsive,
Especially when you are down,
And I am supposed to take advantage of you when you are on the ground.

My thoughts are saying help you up,
Hence, I am able to play vigorously.

It is just how I am,
For now, I will just do what I can.

In life, we are taught to take a stand,
Timid me just wants to hold your hand.
