Tinderbox Heart Poem by Alexander Thomas

Tinderbox Heart

I give you my heart my love - Handle with care!
Don't hesitate - I hope you find it is true and fair,
Gift wrapped with delicate hands - Be Kind!
Take your time - Slowly unravel the bind,
Don't give it a shake as it might break!
Beneath many layers - A hidden treasure,
Trembling - Eagerly expecting ecstatic pleasure,
Through wrapping and boxes you will discover,
The precious gift of a faithful lover!

Take a peek - Inside you'll find my Tinderbox Heart,
It's all yours but caution when taking it apart,
Cradle it - Then take a match and ignite it on fire,
Warm yourself - It will burn forever with fervent desire!
Always keep it with you - Don't put it on a shelf and forget,
Or in sorrow you might turn interminably cold with regret!
