Tired Poem by James Workman

Tired

Rating: 3.0

I grow weary
From your lamentations in my ear
You are like a gnat I cannot swat
Your persistent buzzing
Like an errant bee
Your burdens are too heavy
For both of us to bear
Much better to shift the weight of them
To me
When I am there
As you always do
One day you will discover truth
Not only truth as it is
But truth that you know
And that day will be
Beautiful
Not only for you
But for the ones around you
Until then
I fear I must escape somehow
Your waves of discontent crash against
My very essence
Slowly eroding my soul
