'Tis Beyond Our Control' Poem by Francis Duggan

'Tis Beyond Our Control'

And why should one worry or bother to care
Of what's happening today in the big World out there
When to us without power 'tis beyond our control
That too many are living detached from their soul
Of the crimes against humanity one can only feel sad
Another sixty dead from a car bomb in violent Baghdad
Death and grief and suffering they only create
And what kind of people do harbour such hate
To cause such destruction and anguish and pain
Their actions beyond anyone to explain
The news only seems to get worse every day
Such bad things are happening in Lands far away
Sixty innocents dead in an act of great shame
By callous cowards who dishonour humanity's name.
