Titles, Honours And High Estates - Poem by Kalyani Rajalingham (Married to Dr. Kane)

TITLES, HONOURS AND HIGH ESTATES
By Kalyani Rajalingham

Life does not remember the honoured name

Nor does it judge virtue and shame

All must be forgotten in time someday

Except the pen and the word that quietly stray'd

Ah! Fame, strength, wealth and genius

Form the wings of glory indeed

And though I pursue them like high estates

My worth will not be retained by my titles,

My honours or the weakness in me that conflates

Nay, It is the word I lay as the confessions of my mind

That will not be forgotten or be out of date!
