To A Better Place Poem by Melissa Black

To A Better Place

One final apology,
beautifully contoured
into shades of my traumatic past,
terrible and hopeless.

Useless and motionless,
take advantage of my dying presence.
Perfectly gagged and tied,
Do you miss my ignorance?

Bring back into your memory and at last,
paint the shadows
of flowing scarlet
across my face.
