To A Daffodil Poem by Evelyn Macdonald

To A Daffodil

Out walking on a fine spring day
I saw you there and turned away
so you could bloom another day
Sweet Daffodil

Soft petals reaching for the sun
your gentle face too full of fun
the right to pluck you, I had none
Sweet Daffodil

So flower as far as eyes can see
God gave you life, the same as me
I'm humbled in such company
Sweet Daffodil

Will think of this next time I'm tempted to pick a stray wild daffodils! Great wee poem!
