I call you friend
You who are my constant companion
When all the world departs
And there is solitude
My thoughts free to wander
To go where they might
To dark places and to light
And such delight I find
To hear myself speaking
Swimming in expression
Not drowned out by crowds
Or in the sea of everyday talk.
