To A Friend Somewhere In Chicago Poem by RIC BASTASA

To A Friend Somewhere In Chicago

In your hands you have the sun
In my heart I have the moon & stars
We fold this wide distance like
A paper, a letter where we have once written
Words that rekindle some old fires
Long, long time ago

I sleep in the dark and there you are
Lost and finding your way out
From so much light
