To Be A Jewel Or A Clown Poem by Rhonda Baker

To Be A Jewel Or A Clown

The sky is a misty blue, with raindrops falling down
But not every one of them is eager for the ground
Some cling to tree leaves trying to hang around
Avoiding the destiny for which they are bound
They just want to hang there and like jewel in a crown
If they hit a puddle that single one, is never to be found
It would just blend together, like the smeared make-up of a clown
