To Be A Man Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

To Be A Man

It's not all because of a dress
Of poverty that drops down
It's not all because of a dress
Of richness of outside treasures
Good physiques or facial glow
Or a stout body built up
That fascinates or captivates
The seekers or on lookers.

But, something deep inner most
Inherent hidden inside-
Under outer skin of foul smells
Of ugliness of ego and falsehood
That is the most material matter.

As a small injection of helium
Makes a balloon fly upwards
Upwards high in the sky-
Same way the divinity of soul
Makes a man rise, to the heights.
On an International Men's Day
Let's applaud men to be a man.

I applaud you for celebrating men, as there is never any words of praise about men, it is always about women. I think we do need to celebrate the differences of both genders as they are truly gifts to be held and cherished. Bravo
