To Catch A Poem Poem by Leaking Pen

To Catch A Poem

I went fishing
For that elusive fish
The catch of a lifetime
Would it be on my dish?

Pity the drunk
Who steers a car
Who thinks a home run?
Is not too far!

Illusions about love
Traps us all
Last time I flaunt it
I'm prone to fall.

Who but a fool?
To fantasies
Make-belief results
Are casualties!

My two-minute poem
Slapstick stuff from my cuff
No thought or reason
Is it a diamond in the rough?

Who am I kidding?
Am I a fool?
Who thinks the world?
Is my tool?

Where am I heading
On this rogue road
I take you with me
I am but a toad.

Kiss me my prince
Wake me up from this nightmare
Am I Cinderella? I wince
She's not dead! My poem's fanfare!

My one-minute poem
Now almost done
To start again
I can't, I'm on the run.

You won the Power lotto
For your patience
You made it to the end
Congratulations!

Ha! I got you
Who is the fool?
