Parted there across the way
Waving at the glass
Painted smile across my face
Oh, tears are coming fast.
Hoped she would not see my lips
Trembling, I turned to face the wall
Could not hide the heartache in
As my hearts joy began to fall.
Shattered there upon the ground
My world that moment still
Time to build with crumbling sand
Our house atop the hill.
With gentle touch last said to me
“I do not want to go”
Though I am proud to send her off
Grow, sweet baby, grow.
