To Dance With Death Poem by Sheri Green

To Dance With Death

Child, grasp tight
This hand of night
And step into this
Umbrose light

The dance begins
As the dark descends
And greets the kiss
Of the dying winds

Put your fears to rest
Within your breast
And lay your head
Upon my chest

We shall dance around
The leaf strewn ground
In death we'll wed
When midnight sounds

Your youthful bloom
Will embrace the gloom
As two become one
In twillight's tomb

So child hold tight
As life takes flight
The sun's long gone
And you are mine tonight
