To Forget Poem by Kayla Sharpe

To Forget

It was supposed to be forever
We were to grow old together
We were to have kids
You were supposed to love me unconditionally
But that all changed the days you left me by myself
You were supposed to be there
But you never were
I cried so many nights
Waiting for you to come to me
To hold me
To love me
But you chose other things above me
Now you have to live with the pain of losing me
My love was taken for granted
You took my heart and tore it to pieces
You looked me in my eyes and promised me you'd change
But you only changed for you
I tried for so long
But eventually it was time to give up
I did the hardest thing I've ever had to do
I left you
Now you lost someone who loved you more than the moon
I saw you as my knight is shining armor
Now you are just a memory
One I hope to soon forget
But I promise you this
I will never go back
Nor tell you I love you
You threw that all down the drain
By doing what you always wanted to do.
