To Jim And Saretha Poem by Michael J ORourke2

To Jim And Saretha

To Jim and Saretha

Life's severe altering makes us blink at eternity
and sometimes deface the very God who gave us life.
The perished possibilities dropping like rain pellets to the ground
Leaving perhaps that dull funereal sound
Pacing about in our minds and hearts
Eradicating belief - allowing trust to depart.
Yet you are different in so many ways
As we speak of your past in those Wilkes Barre days
Life's sweet calculation brought Saretha into view
After a diving accident delivered pathos to you.
Pathos yielded to passion
As a medical profession you would fashion
With dark recesses of rejections long past
And impending promotions speeding fast
Still, we ask, ' What does it all mean? '
To purify souls- once muddied, now clean?
God's answer for me is clear and true.
In searching for Him, I found you!
