To Love Me Deeply Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

To Love Me Deeply

Sunsets of the East have proven beautiful
Unlike the West Coast
Ful of sins and vices
But could never let go

Watched as the sun go down
And breeze walked past my face
Brush the hair off with grace
Danced with love and echoes

Beside me a ghost of a man
An apparition I thought I will never be able to see
My eyes starts to water when I recognized
The face and tan
Your pretty face and pale skin with feet in the sand

'Is that really you? '
Has madness finally reached me?
For you and I
Were separated by distance
To hope for a love that knows no bounds

Asked the gods for the sign
Begged the heaven for a reply
And there you are standing right beside me
And reach an arm or two

Your image burst into bubbles
And I cried my heart out allowed
Anguish and languor
The heart that longs for your dead image

Where are you, my love
Where have you gone to?

My worries always cry as it is an unpleasant feeling
To be this far away from you
Not only in body, but in heart and soul
Yet I never fully said the words
'I loved you'

How tragic the love story that never came to be
Fruits of its labor
Cut off short in an instance
For the burden you came to bear
Was too heavy you no longer dare
To love me deeply
