To Melissia Poem by Big Z Snider

To Melissia

Rating: 4.0

Thinking of our marriage
Over the years
We have shared many laughs
We have shared many tears
I took for granted
The LOVE OF MY LIFE!
And made you
My darling
An unhappy wife
I ignored the signs
You so plainly laid out
I did what I wanted
Without ever a doubt
Our children have suffered
From the decisions I made
I did not realize
I made so many mistakes
I feel like a failure
As a husband and dad
When I look in the mirror
I see nothing but BAD!
Can I fix this
Or is it too late?
This clown is so SAD!
I wish you could see
This self that I hate
If I could
I would take back
The things I have done
If only in our hearts
We could feel like we are one
My mind races
To and fro every day
It pains me to know
That we have lost our way!
So, here we are
All battered and bruised.
I want you to know
I'm sorry for your heart
I so badly abused.....

To be able to see one's own mistake and to want to atone for it is virtuous. I hope the damage may well have been repaired.
