Your crazy hair, with 17 crowns, all had their own direction
never to lie down.
'Mum can I tell you something',
anything prince!
You can tell me anything rupert not just when you were little but every day since
You used to be spooked I always knew when something was wrong,
our drives together you'd tell me all your secrets, and then we'd sing our song.
I think there must be a reason, each day you look more and more like me
You would stomach Parents evenings with your mates having a good old perv,
And still you'd say how proud you were of me.
Night after night after night,
Rupert ill wait for you for the rest of my life.
The size of a toddler, you made your entrance stronger than any of us,
We took you home to Grandma's.
A day later just me and you went back to hospital, know one else only us.
I can remember your Nanny, due to come and meet you for the first time,
I stretched that knitted bonnet meant for your head over my knee so hard, you still looked weird, but I didn't care you were still mine.
Watching you grow was like being part of the best story ever told. Sitting back quietly watching, with the comfort you were mine to hold.
Every were you went you were the most popular in the room, friends with every one, people started to see what I saw and not a moment to soon.
You are still the only face that can take my breath away,
if I had not given you the wings you deserved, if I'd of asked I know I could have made you stay.
This is the part where you tell me your fine but your lying,
This person your pretending to be is the version that should go into hiding.
You are gone from my day times
I have forgotten your face
You have gone out of reach despite my determination to chase.
You are gone from my yesterday, my today and tomorrow,
I can carry on without you here, although each day I have to borrow.
One day the borrowed mornings will stop coming, the shadows will welcome me as one of their own,
I will be able to stop pretending, close my eyes forever and finally feel at home.
You are gone, and so am I
I don't want anyone to find me
I will leave no goodbye note, it will never be my choice, I promise to stay here so one day you can find me.
