Anger, your stormy gale blusters and blows
In my mind's spacious expanse;
I am not a brick wall firm against the winds
But a speck carried on its stream.
Before you thunders a storm of my past
Flashing with dark memories
And lightning strikes fierce, fast, and freely,
Each bolt a strike of grief.
For a time I felt your presence was gone,
Dissipated by acceptance;
Yet I was a fool to have faith in a lie
For I was unaware of the wind.
I awake and seethe with your red-hot fury,
My blood burning and boiling;
Should I become living, walking fire
Let it torch this vile world.
Like many, I am deaf to all other things;
Your wind whistles shriekingly;
What remains of me is pain of yesterday
And rage of its injustices.
