To My Big Sister Poem by Rita Hawkins

We are sisters by heart,
And you got to know that though we argue-
I love you and it has improved since the start, and I would like to say thanks for helping me

It seams like just yesterday you were 28 yrs. old and when it came to me-
You were dead serious in every degree-
To get you be a little less serious, I would smack you then flee-
About then though many things come to me to be thankful for-
But to sum it up in the end- Thanks for helping me see I do have a purpose,
And just must find the right place to be.

When it comes down to the guys I date-
You are always emphasizing the importance that I do wait-
Until the right guy comes along and I find the right mate and to leave the ones who abuse-
And you always mange to be able to tell when I’m lying or about to lose my mind-
And through the time right now I want to thank you-
because at times without you I know I would become out of line.

Thanks for being there and letting your caring ways shine-
In many ways you do show that you truly care-
Even though things are always changing- one thing stays the same- you are always there-
Especially when life seams like a lose-lose game.
