To My Brother Poem by Abhilash Pattnaik

To My Brother

Moments of silence, feelings of despair, and of emptiness,
In a feeling so unknown, so much of depth in the shallowness.
We bequeathed bidding farewell,  managing a short wry smile,
Whilst the eyes got diluted felling the eeriness of the while.
The walls of the heart festooned with melancholy,
The final moments spent whimsical and haphazardly.
The moments spent together so vividly in the mind poised,
His presence was enough to make my mood rejoice.

As I write and lament over my Brother's absence,
Missing seems life's most precious essence.
He played so dexterously all the roles of the play,
His every single gesture enough to make you gay.
So I ask him what he has to say, After
Bidding adieu and going so far away.
Whether He'd come back and fill the gaping hole,
As aimlessly I meander searching for my own soul.
He left me alone to walk on this road so unknown,
As I need his assistance, never having done this alone.
I ask why did You go leaving the jigsaw unsolved,
Turning a deaf ear to every time I desperately called.
