To My Coming Child, ... Poem by Ologunde Joshua Abiodun

To My Coming Child, ...

I know you want to come into this world
But I don't want you to suffer for my wrongs
As a friend having fun,
Both day and night; This! I want for you, my Child!
See Child; am trying to build a life...
...for you and the lady I'll call my wife...that's your mama am talking about!
The one to wear my ring in-front of my Pastor
Patience, Patience my Child!
I know someday I'll be your Daddy
I know by then, your mama will be ready
I'll be a man! and I will be fine
To father you as God charge me to!

I love you my child
And someday you'll be here to call me daddy!
Am sure by that time; your mama will be ready to bring you to me
Like a father to a child,
I will be! to you, and a man to your mama!
Wait my child for mama to be ready
Wait for awhile...
...Smiles to you child,
I know you can read my mind.
Daddy loves you!
Cheers to you, my Child!
