To, My Dear Son Poem by Hima bindu

To, My Dear Son

Rating: 5.0

Oh! my jewel crowning my fame
immaculate in your glow and richness
added colours to my life with your presence
rocking in the cradle to the tune of the nightingale

With a great impetus I longed to see your feet
touch the floor of our ancestral home
the home which bore you the abode of our happiness tainted
with lullabies and tantrums

Embracing you, Oh! my child,
has expanded my horizons of motherhood
but alas, kept your mum numb strangling hard
to the baseless myths

Bless you, my son, with humble thoughts and noble deeds
that reap your future, quite challenging for a mother
to raise her kid with values of life and courage
to encounter the challenges in the ever competing world
with values and ethics and muster courage to face the world
