To My Lover Poem by Candis Smith

To My Lover

Rating: 5.0

Her life was in chaos,
But she thought she was okay.
Her soul was disappearing,
A little more everyday.

It came as a surprise,
Her life had been lost.
She chased after that high,
She didn't care at what cost.

Agonizing pain,
Regret and despair.
She slowly came to terms,
That her fairytale was no longer there.

Just give her one more chance,
She'll fix this, she swears.
She didn't mean to, she's sorry,
God please! This isn't fair!

All alone and so scared,
She's in a fight for her life.
This sadness is unbearable,
She's gonna make this right.

Breaking up isn't easy,
When it's all that you know.
But to my lover called Meth,
It's time for you to go.

Change is never easy,
But it is a part of life.
She knows she isn't perfect,
And she's starting to make it right.

My life was in chaos,
But I thought I was okay.
My soul was disappearing,
But I can see it more everyday.

An insightful depiction of additive agony and strong resolve to overcome it, well articulated and nicely penned in good rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Candis. Please read my poem THE OBSESSIVE AGONY OF LUST.
