Back in 2019, I left my friends behind,
From Marikina's warmth to Davao's kind wind.
The move was daunting, unfamiliar, and new,
A chapter of life where loneliness grew.
Making friends was tough, changes hard to embrace,
I missed familiar laughter, each cherished face.
My Marikina friends were exceptional, sincere,
And I longed for the comfort of having them near.
We stayed in touch, chatting when we could,
But distance widened, as life often would.
They made new friends, and I understood,
Yet I missed the bond that once felt so good.
No blame to place, that's just life's way,
I'm happy for them, though I wish they'd stay.
Our chats now brief, a 'How are you? ' here and there,
Birthday wishes exchanged, but less to share.
The solitude lingers, a bittersweet test,
Yet I hold on to memories that were the best.
Though life moves slow and the road feels rough,
I've learned to be strong, to endure when it's tough.
I might be different, a little out of the norm,
But my Marikina friends loved me in every form.
In my heart, their kindness still lights the way,
A guiding star through life's cloudy days.
Though miles apart, they remain ever near,
In cherished memories, so vivid, so clear.
Life moves forward, but bonds like these last,
An anchor of love, a link to my past.
