To My Mother Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

To My Mother

To my mother

Much I have on plate
-must hurry and handle
-keep the run if alive
-and if not
-pack suitcase, go and die

To do book for the film
-have designs, graphics
-with written articles,
-must align to pictures

Audio, almost done
-time is for colour now

Then talk with the UN
-share it with refugees
-the book and the movie
- (so was meant and must be,
-building bridge with kindness,
-plant hope; dedicate to hopeless.)

These are all on plate
-and all in poverty
-no work and no money

I must be crazy…
- (as some say…)

In such time came email
-One of my nephews sent
-was written by myself
-is addressed to mother
-long ago, three decades
-and top it with four years

Mom is gone
-miss her much…
-no more young
-but still stubborn
-I bark as do the dogs.
