I was conceived within your womb
kept safe within that cosy room.
You held me firm in your embrace
when to this world I showed my face.

I felt so loved and so very blessed
when suckled there upon your breast.
You carried me upon your shoulder
and nurtured me as I grew older.
Laughed my laughter and cried my tears
felt my hurts and kissed away my fears.

Today is your special day
and I would like to say
Thanks for being my mum
and Happy Mother's day.
