To My Sweet Killer Poem by The Muse

To My Sweet Killer

With eyes so limpid as pools of swamp
With a smile that could melt an icy fortress
Voice to match the chorus of angels
You have struck deep into me
Seared the walls with passion
Smudged the peaceful non-existence
And now you come back to hurt me some more
I show you my wares and you slink away unawares
Claiming deep roots that cannot be uprooted
Feigning ignorance of a love so deep
I lay myself down now to weep
I cannot touch you
I cannot see you
I hear you not anymore
Yet you were once mine forevermore
