To New Cosmic Shores (2) Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

To New Cosmic Shores (2)

Just imagine a world made of water
That suddenly turned into solid ice
It would condense, crack and no doubt fracture
As if it was being crushed in a vice

Volcanic eruptions then earthquake
Under feet the lattice does twist and shear
Energy released the great earth does shake
Maybe whole continents would disappear

But I will sail off to new cosmic shores
Floating islands that do orbit in void
Like a viking from our ancient lore
Through the galaxy on an asteroid

Bursting forth into space I pollinate
Human panspermia does propagate
