To Soar Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

To Soar

To soar
Forty and fifty years ago
That ambition signified
Burning and rattling
Yearning
For ever-extension
For ever-increase
But
Now
The signification is shrunken
As a withered tree
A withered hag
A shroud
Funereal cloth
And wish to make a Will
Then stop.
