To The One I Miss..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

though i miss you
i will say nothing about it,
it is this pain that wants
to heal itself in silence.
i envy others who are
open to their loneliness.
those who articulate what
is stirring inside their souls.
those who find time under the
moon and keep solitude's joys
in the midst of a calm meditation.
though i miss you i will say
nothing about it, not even to you.
you are far away having left
without any word for me.
i am in pain as with the rest
of humanity. We have isolated ourselves
from words and what ought to be
spoken.
i join the world in this pain,
and fear, and i find solace in
its hope that everything soon
shall be contained.
you are far away and it is killing me.

on the other hand, i hold the hand
of reason, and it is making all the
explanations, which perhaps i now
shall fully understand.

i do not deserve you and you do
not deserve me too.
it is fair and square.
Humanity has places for all hearts.
And tomorrow's sun shall shine
for each kind of happiness.
