My precious wife asleep,
today’s impressions seep,
as news and olds collide,
and time is a silly notion.
The words float out of my hand
like tickling daisies.
I wish my family safe tonight,
and tomorrow we will be alright.
Sleep on.

This is a lovely poem, it leaves breathless and that's a good feeling. I remember late at night when my young son and my wife were both asleep and myself up late doing school and feeling that same warmth in their presence. I believe that is one meaning to a line from T. S. Eliot which haunts me, namely - AT THE STILL POINT OF THE TURNING UNIVERSE. And I love the title of your poem. In a SF novel I admire, the 200-year-old hero says with anger, THE UNIVERSE IS OUT TO KILL ME. Maybe that's true, but not for this poem, this moment it captures.
