To Understand Me Poem by Robert Trew

To Understand Me

Right now I’m too weak
To understand me
Or to listen to you speak.
I’m too much of a man to cry,
To understand me
I know you won’t even try.
I must hang up the phone,
To understand me
One must be alone.

I’m always saying I’m sorry
To understand me,
I try not to worry
About my life of constant agony,
To understand me
Look, at what you don’t always see
I, constantly fighting,
To understand me.

This is good piece of work. It explains a lot about people and the message comes out clearly in the 2nd stanza when one reads the lines in a somehow alternating manner! What a creative way of writing. I'm totally impressed!
