To Welsh Lady
Learned of her as poet;
Not knowing was female.
Found her name misleading,
Her concern, excessive.
Whenever she found me
Down, depressed, and willing
To leave life with goodbye,
Stepped in, came forward
With soft and sweet words
Planted seed of hope.
Now floor and ceiling
Seem to be exchanging
Locations and feelings!
I tell her: "My friend
You, great poetess,
Leave the couch and TV
Live and laugh, go boogie;
Read and feel morning dawn
Turn to words, describe.
Wear feather and be light
Go fly, roam around
Or float on the waves;
To the tides we belong."
I tell her: "Wear dance shoes
Ignore the hooray, boos;
Just add to livelihood
Of your legs, become dude
And make a new world,
Pull the roots of willows
In each and all mankind,
Elderly, parent, child."
Read her works, admire
Then plea and beg her:
"My friend be patient,
Stop life in this cave."
What a kind an wonderful poem, insight when given in the form of genuine concern to another goes a long way, really good poem, I truly enjoyed this poem my friend!
