To Your Higher Self Poem by Francis Duggan

To Your Higher Self

To your higher self you must try to be true
And treat all as equal and give all their due
And never on purpose put anyone down
Not even the lowest lowbrow of the town
The great tree of the forest eventually does fall
And the fate of the tree is the fate of us all
What we dislike in others in our own selves we see
With whoever first said that I can only agree
The V I P's have come and the V I P's have gone
But rank and class distinction in the World is living on
In a fair Human World these would not have a place
There is no such a thing as a superior race
The monarch and the president eventually must die
No different to her, him or to you and I.
