To Your Own World Poem by Joseph Dos Santos

To Your Own World

This box seems confinding, unwinding
every knot and thought that lasts
from the future to the past
remaining in the cast of broken dreams and memories
of what I call reality.
We, known as you and I and them,
recommend that to mend
this escape would just be too great.
We hate to say it, but we already display it
that to become independent is rare
very true, it’s unfair, I swear though
I know that the tunnel you’ve dug to climb out
the rubble is about as real as imagining as you can feel.
The compass keeps spinning
a near end, a new beginning
renew the values of this place
into the true being of this haste.
We walk in a square and talk to compare the fair share of every care
and if one blocks we all stare
cause the stalks where our brains grow
make us reap what we sow
and though I weep, I do know
that our souls seems to glow
as I stand in the row
and go to the end of this labyrinth
reach for the sanity within one inch
and learn this.
Unique equals the same in this game
And as the pain keeps going the dice keeps rolling
Snake eyes make me realize
To your own world you escape
But it’s a globe to a mastermind
Who rotates your fate.
