Toast Poem by Randy McClave

Toast

Rating: 4.0

As I raised my glass to give a toast
I nod my head and give tribute to my host
Giving my expression of honor and goodwill
Now my duties for this evening I did fulfill
Everyone stands and they raise their glass
In that one moment our host is in a different class
We drink to him and then we all applaud
But in my opinion this sentiment is just a fraud
We all showed up for the free drinks and free food
And a night to dress up so we all can be viewed
While others stood to give salutations and a cheer
I congratulate my host for the free food and the beer.
