Today And The Day But Tomorrow Wouldn't Poem by Felix Emeka George

Today And The Day But Tomorrow Wouldn't

Because today is the day but tomorrow wouldn't be,
Is behind the lusty eyes of a defiant leader.
Seeing that it is about power,
He chooses to die in power.
My experience grants a little insight

On the day my country bound plane delayed
A few passengers and I from the airline
Were in for treats at a five star hotel
We marched down into Heathrow,
Awesome and wonderfully marvellousy.

Magnificent and beautiful,
I thought to myself,
as the stars surround Jupiter.
I had never sighted such an extraordinary edifice.
I know it was made for amazing humans in power.

Looking round, I wondered seeing some having their hair cut
I walked right into others having pedicures and manicures.
And found myself dining unrestricted daily.
To intercontinental dishes and assorted wines and drinks

Ohhh, right now you're on track
Of knowing and telling others what these amazing humans enjoy?
Now I know why they don't ever want to quit power
Everything is sweet and free.
