The sun rises in the East,
The sun sets in the West,
As the moon rises in the cold dark night,
The tides start to come onto the shore,
You start to think that the world can one day
Become like the waves.
There is no corruption, no fighting,
The world would be better off that way,
But you know people will never change,
This is why we don’t have much time to live.
But you can always dream
That the world can be different,
That there will never be any problems,
That’s the best dream you can have.
Then you look up at the moon
Gleaming down, making the water sparkle,
Then you realize that the world will be the way it is
And you always be you.
A two? ! ! tsk..tsk: Trevor, this is a great poem, and I expect to see many more like it. Do you KNOW do you have ANY IDEA at all how lucky you are ot have a poet for a parent? Wow, I can't even imagine that. It's so much nicer than being all on your own (shhhh- my parents never really understood poetry, you know? but they supported me in every other way possible) . Welcome to poemhunter, so glad to see you've inherited those good poetry genes!
