Together Poem by Sarda Mohan

Together

Hand in hand we walked together
Among leaves none bothered to gather
The trees stood bare on either side
Those nests they now did not hide.

Here and there a chirp was heard
The call of an unseen bird.

The moon came out with its silver rays
Making us want to go into space
Closing our eyes we took a flight
To the moon - The Queen of the night.

Out there, we could neither walk
Nor hear the birds talk
We rushed back feeling it was better
To walk on leaves none bothered to gather.
