Together Poem by Shiloh Thompson

Together

Rating: 1.0

It was like watching poetry in motion,
Black and blue against the white,
Powerfully sweeping side to side,
As the crowd around us disappears.

Wobbling across the slippery ice,
A firm and yet coaxing voice,
Helping and guiding a learning pupil,
As weakness turns into strength.

Gaining confidence and going faster,
Weaving in and out of the crowd,
Running away but laughing when found,
Eyes meeting as time slows to a stop.

Awash with betrayal and hurt,
Nearly crying out with the pain,
Lies again, but lo, no lie was spoken,
Heart swells with hope and trust.

Cool air caressing angered skin,
Calming an unsteady head and heart,
Secretive glances across the expanse of ice,
An unspoken bond between two friends.

All alone amid the masses of people,
Two lonely hearts reaching out,
Joining together in perfect harmony,
Together through all the chaos of life.
