Like the down stroke of any deceit drug,
You have started to ware off.
The pleasure of your fix is lost,
When I left,
now no new memories
are made,
I’m stuck with the come down…
And it hurts.
My gut swells with pain,
An aching for release,
This beer hasn’t numbed like you
Had numbed.
I’ve distanced myself from you… your heart,
Dread,
Struggled beauty that fights everyday.
My body is young, and misses your youth,
A growing struggle inside of me must sit instead,
barely dripping
Onto this painting
That I draw for you.
Pain has dressed in my memories of your body,
What I feel is that of death, something decaying apart from growth
Like the glow from the dimming moon.
Darkness starts to soak its ink
Within my skin.
A consuming dream that makes life disappear,
And I hope you’ll wake…hoping you’ll wake….
Hoping you’ll wake….
But you haven’t,
So my words still create reality,
And that truth is this:
You love a woman who does not love you……
So common,
We’ve all gone through it, …
That’s what they say…
But they gave up,
And I’ll die drunk like the naïve man you still see,
Before I move on sober from you,
And empty my love and life back into the sea
